Reducing Environmental Impact | We design with nature in mind.
We work exclusively with 100% natural fabrics, primarily silk and wool, chosen for their purity, elegance, and lower environmental impact. Our collections are crafted using a made-to-order model, meaning we produce only what is needed, eliminating excess inventory and preventing unnecessary waste. Every garment is designed to be timeless, durable, and recyclable, reducing the need for frequent replacements and supporting circular fashion principles like resale or reintegration into the earth. We avoid all chemical intensive processes, including bleaching or harsh finishes, ensuring our materials remain as natural as possible. While we do not yet hold direct traceability certificates from our mills, we work with suppliers who share our values around material integrity and sustainability. By producing locally in London, we not only maintain close control over quality but also significantly reduce our carbon footprint compared to offshore manufacturing. This careful balance of conscious design, ethical production, and enduring beauty is what defines sustainability at FJK.
Ethical Craftsmanship | Every FJK piece is produced at a small, independent sewing studio in London.
Our production partner is a small, independent sewing studio based in London, operating under strict health, safety, and quality control policies to ensure a respectful, ethical working environment. All seamstresses are self-employed artisans who work collaboratively and flexibly, with full autonomy over their schedules and fair project based arrangements. Regular risk assessments are performed, and clear Health & Safety and Working Hours Policies are in place to protect every individual involved. No child labour, forced labourers or exploitation exists at any stage. The studio fosters a culture of fairness and craftsmanship, values deeply aligned with our own. We do not outsource to mass production factories; every FJK piece is crafted by skilled hands under dignified conditions, reinforcing our belief that true luxury is never built on compromise.
Animal Welfare Commitment | We design beautiful garments without cruelty.
We never use animal skins such as leather, fur, exotic hides, or feathers in our collections. Our wool is sourced responsibly, guided by the principle that animals must not be harmed for their fibres. We prioritise natural materials that respect the life cycles of animals and the ecosystems they inhabit, ensuring no cruelty or unnecessary suffering is involved at any stage. For us, sustainability means creating beauty without inflicting harm and true luxury is compassionate by nature.
Waste and Circularity | Every scrap matters.
We recycle every production offcut or waste generated during sampling and small batch runs, ensuring nothing is discarded without intention. Our garments are designed with minimal detailing and 100% natural compositions, using only recyclable metal hardware when necessary to make disassembly and recycling easier. This approach ensures that when the time comes, each FJK piece can either biodegrade naturally or be responsibly recycled, returning to the earth without harm. Every design decision is made with circularity and longevity in mind, so beauty never comes at the planet’s expense.
